On April 26th, 2011, the “Our Southern Community Center” celebrated their long anticipated Grand Opening!

Western North Carolina visitors, residents, and business owners can now take advantage of, and benefit from this valuable community outreach. In addition to the sponsored workshops and educational programs, the center offers classroom, meeting, and workshop space for sustainable businesses, conservation organizations and individuals.

“Our Southern Community Center” is a regional resource located at 797 Locust Street in the 7th Ave. Historic District, Hendersonville, NC offering affordable education and information on clean energy technologies, environmental conservation and sustainable economic development. Workshops, classes, programs, products and a wide selection of books are available at the OSC Center, with scheduled presentations and more information at www.oursoutherncommunity.org .

The 11th Annual Southern Energy & Environment Expo will be held August 19, 20, & 21st 2011 at the WNC Agricultural Center in Fletcher, NC, across from the Asheville Regional Airport. The South’s largest and most comprehensive green building, sustainable energy technology and environmental conservation event, with over 100 exhibitors and a range of free classes and presentations included with daily admission.
